Gautam Gambhir was a great player for team India across all three formats during his playing days. Apart from that, he had a great career in the Indian T20 League. Gambhir also won two titles for the Kolkata franchise in 2012 and 2014 respectively. But, now, he came up with a huge statement on the former Protea batter AB De Villiers.

De Villiers was a great player in the history of the Indian T20 League, especially while playing for the Bangalore franchise. He did not manage to win a single title but his impact and big six-hitting capabilities all around the field were close to none. But, Gambhir has now claimed that AB De Villiers played only for personal milestones.

“Anybody could have scored runs in Chinnaswamy Stadium." - Gautam Gambhir

While speaking on Star Sports during the ongoing Test series between India and Australia, Gautam Gambhir said: "Ab de Villiers only had personal records in the Indian T20 League. Anybody could have scored runs in Chinnaswamy Stadium." He claimed that any batter can score such runs in a stadium like Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru. The Bengaluru pitch is known as a high-scoring one as batters always score big runs on this ground. Speaking about these players’ careers in the Indian T20 League, Gambhir played 154 matches for several franchises.
