The action continued on day three of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final on 9 June 2023 at the Oval between India and Australia. However, India managed to show some fightback and got bundled out for 296 runs in their first innings. Thus, the Aussies came out to bat in the second innings with a lead of 173 runs.

David Warner and Usman Khawaja came out to bat. But, during the fourth over, Marnus Labuschagne was seen having a nap on a chair on the balcony with pads on. The Aussie batter was supposed to come out to bat at number three. So, images and videos went viral as fans shared their views.

Speaking of the incident, Mohammed Siraj came to bowl that over while David Warner was batting. Khawaja was on the non-striker end. After two balls, Labuschagne was seen with his eyes closed, reclined on a chair in the rooms. But, on the next delivery, Warner edged the ball and KS Bharat did not make any mistake as Australia lost their first wicket. Hence, the crowd erupted and Labuschagne was seen waking up suddenly from his post-lunch nap. Speaking of him, he is the current number-one-ranked batter in the longest format of the game. However, in the first innings, he scored only 26 runs off 62 balls, including three fours.

Speaking of the match, Australia scored 469 runs in their first innings. Then, India finished day two with 151 runs for five wickets. Then, on day three, Ajinkya Rahane’s 89 runs and Shardul Thakur’s 51 runs helped them to reach 296 runs. With a 173-run lead, the Aussies suffered an early setback as Warner scored just one run. Then, Khawaja also got out on 13 runs. After that, Labuschagne and Steve Smith put up an unbeaten 50-run partnership as Australia reached 83 runs for two wickets in 28 overs.
