Jofra Archer is currently busy playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing IPL. Before this season, MI lost their prime pacer, Jasprit Bumrah. As a reason, fans were hoping to see Archer in full form for all the matches. MI bought Archer for INR 8 Cr. in the IPL 2022 mega auction. But, he missed the entire season due to injury.

Still, the franchise showed faith in him and retained him for IPL 2023. However, as of now, he has played only one match against RCB. After that, he missed the next two matches against CSK and DC respectively due to a niggle. Now, reports are coming out that the England Cricket Board (ECB) are closely monitoring Jofra Archer. 

“We have a fantastic medical team looking after him.” - Mark Boucher on Jofra Archer 

He made his MI debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). But, Jofra Archer failed to grab any wickets as he conceded 33 runs. After that, against CSK, at the toss, skipper Rohit Sharma shared the news of him missing the clash. He said: “Unfortunately, we have got an injury, I would not call it an injury but it is just a precaution – Jofra is not playing”. After the loss against CSK, coach Mark Boucher also shared an update regarding him at the post-match press conference.

Boucher said: "He (Archer) has picked up a little niggle, and we have a fantastic medical team looking after him. He's obviously a massive player for us as well, so hopefully, you know they can pass him fit sometime soon. We will always look after the player, so if he's not ready to put his hand at play, then we'll look after him as well. But we're following the medical advice from our team at the moment. So yeah, hopefully, he's up for selection pretty soon". MI played Jason Behrendorff in place of Jofra Archer in the last two matches.
