It was another heartbreaking moment for Team India fans on 11 June 2023 when they lost the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia by 209 runs at the Oval. With this loss, India now have failed to add a single major trophy to their cabinet since 2013.

MS Dhoni still remained the last skipper to win any major final for the Men in Blue. But, a fan came up with a tweet where he gave all the credit to Dhoni for winning the World Cups and Champions Trophy. In reply, to that, former Team India player, Harbhajan Singh came up with a tweet to bash him and took a sarcastic dig.

Speaking of the tweet, the fan wrote: “No coach , no mentor , young boy's , most of the senior player's denied to take part . never captianed any single match before . This guy defeated prime australia in semifinals and won a T20 World Cup in 48 day's after becoming captain.”

In reply, Harbhajan wrote: “Yes when these matches were played this young boy was playing alone from india.. not the other 10 .. so alone he won the World Cup trophies .. irony when Australia or any other nation win the World Cup headlines says Australia or etc country won. But when indian wins it’s said captain won it’s a team sports. Win together lose together.”

It seemed that the former spinner was not happy with all the credit of winning was given to Dhoni while he emphasised that all the other players along with him were also equally important in those victories. Harbhajan was a part of the squad that won both the 20-20 World Cup in 2007 and the ODI World Cup in 2011 under Dhoni’s captaincy. He also played in the IPL under Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from 2018 to 2020.
