Shaheen Afridi, the Pakistan star pacer, was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022 due to injury and underwent rehabilitation in London. However, the fiery pacer made his comeback in the warm-up game in the 20-20 World Cup on October 17, Monday against England and conceded only 7 runs in the two overs that he bowled.
The Men in Green faced off Afghanistan in yet another practice game on Wednesday and Afridi, who bowled all of his four overs, managed to pick 2 wickets to his name during the course. However, the wicket against batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz caught the eyes as he dismissed the player with a toe-crushing yorker.

Gurbaz had to be piggybacked out of the field and this left the fans puzzled as they thought that the Afghanistan batter was injured. As the match ended with a no-result, Pakistan’s next assignment would be against India in the Super 12 stage on October 23.
‘Dear Afridi, you are already feared’
Fans, from Pakistan in specific, could not keep their calm as they lauded the youngster for his courage and said that he is one of the most feared bowlers in the world at present. Shaun Tait, the Pakistan bowling coach lauded Afridi for his spell and backed the pacer to go big in the main matches.
“I've had a good look at both sides recently. Everyone knows we have a pretty high quality bowling attack. Good to watch him (Shaheen) today. We've got good depth, we saw that in the Asia Cup as well as in the NZ series. Shaheen swung the ball today, bowled good pace, hit guys on the feet, did all the stuff we are used to seeing him do. That's good to see. He was in the UK, that would have been tough for him as well, being away from the side. Touch wood, seems like they have done a pretty good job,” Tait said after the first innings.
Fans, who went crazy over his spell, came up with a few interesting tweets. Here they are:
