Shubman Gill is currently busy playing for Gujarat Titans in the ongoing IPL 2023. However, his team will be in action on 9 April against Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground. Now, ahead of that clash, the star team India opener opened up about his dream opening partner during a session on Jio Cinemas.

Gill revealed that the former team India great, Sachin Tendulkar would be the dream opening partner for him. Seeing such a statement, fans went crazy and shared their funny views on social media platforms. Shubman Gill has been always linked with Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar.

Before the IPL 2023, Shubman Gill had a great time with the bat for Team India across all three formats. In December 2022, Gil notched up his maiden Test hundred. Then, he continued his dream run in both the ODI and T20I formats. He scored a double hundred in ODIs while scoring his maiden T20I ton also. Then, in the BGT, he got two matches and scored a century against the Aussies. So, Gujarat fans were hoping for such a form from the batter in this ongoing tournament. In this ongoing IPL so far, Gill has scored 77 runs in two matches.

After the century against the Aussies, Dinesh Karthik said that Gill is very similar to legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar. While speaking to Cricbuzz, Karthik said: “There are many similarities, technically. You know, the positions they get into, tall batters. Sachin Tendulkar is not tall, but he stands tall at the crease and is always on top of the ball. Shubman Gill is very similar, high hands, and he has this trigger movement where he goes back and across and waits for it. That's why you see sometimes he might inside edge it because of the way his bat swing is. But there's slightly less movement on flat tracks. The speed at which he brings the bat down is what makes him really special”.
