English batter Jos Buttler notched the second century of his Indian T20 League career against Mumbai at the DY Patil Sports Academy on Saturday. There is no denying the fact that Jos Buttler loves playing against Mumbai. Over the years, he has played some sensational knocks against Mumbai. In this game, he went on to hit his maiden century against Mumbai in the Indian T20 League. Buttler began the innings cautiously, having managed only 12 runs in his first 14 deliveries.
However, the Englishman then hit three sixes and two fours in a single over off Basil Thampi to set the tone for a milestone. Buttler went on to hit boundaries all around the ground and didn’t spare any bowler barring Jasprit Bumrah.
The 31-year old eventually brought up his century off just 66 deliveries. He reached the landmark on the first ball of the 18th over of the innings. Butter later got out on the fifth ball of the same over. He scored 100 runs in 68 deliveries, a knock which was laced with 11 fours and 5 sixes. With that, he also became only the third batsmen after Yusuf Pathan and Ben Stokes to hit a hundred against Mumbai.
The fans on Twitter loved his every bit of his knock. Several Twitter users took to the social media handle to praise the Englishman for his outstanding knock. Here’s a look at some of the reactions on the same.
Jos Buttler Smashed Umran Malik for 21 runs in the game vs SRH and now smashed Basil Thampi for 26 runs in this match vs MI. Both in the 4th over of the Powerplay. Strategy to put the relatively inexperienced bowlers under pressure working really well for him. #MIvRR

Buttler showing why he’s the best around. He knows who he needs to see off and who to absolutely destroy. Then when he’s fully in the zone he’ll destroy the guy he saw off too. Genius

Buttler’s century helped Rajasthan post a formidable score of 193 runs in the first innings against Mumbai. Besides, the likes of Sanju Samson (30 off 21) and Shimron Hetmyer (35 off 14) also made important contributions to the total. Rajasthan have already won a match and would be looking to register their second consecutive win today.
It is pertinent to note that Rajasthan is the only team to have defended a total in the ongoing competition. They would be looking to do that once again. Mumbai, on the other hand, would be keen to chase down the score and earn their first points in the competition.
