Speaking of the video, the incident took place in the 121st over of Sri Lanka’s second innings. Bracewell was bowling while Pravath Jayasuriya was batting. On the third delivery, Michael Bracewell bowled and the ball ended up as a wide due to heavy wind in Wellington. The ball got extra drift due to the wind and it was so funny for the fans. The Kiwis won the second match by an inning and 58 runs. Bracewell took five wickets in the game.

Due to his inclusion in the Bangalore franchise, he will now miss the ODI series against the Lankans. Rachin Ravindra has replaced him in the squad for the upcoming series. Regarding that, the New Zealand head coach, Gary Stead said: “Michael's been a key contributor to our white-ball teams since making his debut last year. It's exciting he'll get a chance to take up the learning opportunities the Indian T20 League provides - particularly as a spin bowling all-rounder. With a World Cup in India this year it's great to have players getting more experience in those conditions."
