Pakistan and New Zealand locked horns in the second of the three-match ODI series at the National Stadium in Karachi. The visitors’ skipper Kane Williamson won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first. Batting first New Zealand scored 261 runs after losing all wickets in 49.5 overs.

While chasing the target, the hosts crumbled and surrendered against the Kiwi bowling lineup and got bundled up on the score of 182 runs. Kane Williamson’s men won the match by 79 runs and have leveled the series now by 1-1.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam’s batting intent was under the scanner following an unexpected defeat in the second ODI. The duo stitched a brilliant 181-run partnership for the second wicket after they lost Finn Allen early on the score of only 2 runs. But then came the magical spell of Mohammad Nawaz in favor of Pakistan. New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals and their next six batters went back to the pavilion within the margin of only 37 runs. Pakistan managed to restrict Kiwis on the score of 261 runs in 49.5 overs.

While chasing the target, Pakistan kept losing the wickets at very frequent intervals, it was only the skipper Babar Azam who played a knock of 79 runs, and that too with a very slow strike rate of 69.29. Eventually, the Blackcaps bundled up Pakistan on the score of 182 in 43 overs and won the match by 79 runs to level the three-match series by a score line of 1-1.
