Australia took a 1-0 lead over England after defeating England in the first match of the ongoing Ashes 2023 at Edgbaston. But, during the match, Ollie Robinson was found sledging Usman Khawaja after dismissing him in the first inning. Even in the second innings, he was seen having some words with the batter.

So, that did not go well with former Aussie cricketers like Ricky Ponting and Matthew Hayden. During a conversation with former wicketkeeper Ian Healy, Hayden slammed Robinson by calling him a ‘forgettable cricketer.’ Listening to that fans went crazy and shared their views on social media.

“I don't really care how it's perceived, to be honest.” - Ollie Robinson

Hayden said: "That's how you combat England as well. As soon as Pat Cummins started coming at Joe Root and hit a couple of sixes," Hayden said. "Then the other bloke; he's a forgettable cricketer. A fast bowler that is bowling 124 (kph) nude nuts and he's got a mouth from the south." When Healy asked, "Who, Ollie Robinson?", Hayden replied, "Someone like him, you can just go, 'Brother, I'm coming at ya.'” Meanwhile, regarding this, Robinson claimed that he does not care about the reaction he was receiving for sledging as for him, it is quite normal for player in a high-profile series like the Ashes.

He said: "It's my first home Ashes and to get the big wicket at the time was special for me. I think Uzzie played unbelievably well. To get that wicket for us as a team at the time was massive. We all want that theatre of the game, don't we? So I'm here to provide it. I don't really care how it's perceived, to be honest. It's the Ashes. It's professional sport. If you can't handle that, what can you handle?" In the first match, Robinson grabbed five wickets in total in two innings. He will be seen in action again from 28 June when England will take on Australia in the second Test at the Lord's.
