Sydney Cricket Ground will witness David Warner in the whites of Australia for the final time. The 37-year-old had already decided to retire from the Test format a few months ago. Warner had also announced that SCG will be his final Test as it will be in front of his home crowd.

It has been a great career across formats for the destructive batter from Australia. There is some good news for David Warner fans as he will playing in the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the West Indies later this year.

Australian opener David Warner had decided to quit the ODI format on the eve of his final ever Test Match for his national side. the 37-year-old was addressing the media when he dropped this shocking news.

While speaking to the press, Warner said that he wants to spend more time with his family. The Australian also wants to explore more chances to play T20 leagues across the world. There is a small glimmer of hope for fans though as Warner has said he could make himself available for the Champions Trophy.

“I’ve got to give back to the family and also on the back of that, I’m definitely retiring from ODI Cricket as well. That was something I had said throughout the 2023 World Cup, get through that and winning in India, that was a massive achievement”

David Warner also said “So I’ll make those decisions today to retire from those formats, which does allow me to go and play other T20 leagues around the world and sort of get the ODI team moving forward a bit”

Finally, the Aussie ended the meet by saying “I know there’s a Champions Trophy coming up. If I’m still playing decent cricket in two years time and I’m around and they need someone. I’ll make myself available”
