Shreyas Iyer is currently out of team India’s squad as he got ruled out of the ongoing ODI series against Australia due to a back injury. He was in the playing XI for the Ahmedabad Test but failed to play due to sudden back pain. So, fans were not happy to see the star batter getting ruled out of the series.

However, now reports have come out that he will miss the upcoming edition of the Indian T20 League for the KKR franchise and the upcoming WTC final. Shreyas Iyer was the skipper for the franchise in the last season. So, it will be a huge loss for Kolkata in the Indian T20 League 2023.

The Kolkata franchise will look to appoint a new skipper if Shreyas Iyer misses the Indian T20 League 2023 

He is even set to miss the upcoming World Test Championship final for team India, The Men in Blue got qualified for the final for the second consecutive time after defeating Australia at home by 2-1. Sri Lanka also lost the series in New Zealand by 2-0. So, the stage is set for the Aussies and team India for the final. Hence, it will be a huge setback for Rohit Sharma and his men as Iyer will be unavailable for the middle-order position. Recent reports have come out that Iyer is going to have his back surgery in either London or somewhere in India.

It will happen under the strict guidance of the Indian Cricket Board. He has consulted with a Mumbai-based doctor and he advised him for the surgery. As per reports, he is expected to miss any cricketing action for the upcoming four to five months. Speaking of Shreyas Iyer, he has played 101 international matches so far for team India. In those games, he has scored 3340 runs, including three centuries and 26 fifties. Listening to such reports, fans went crazy and shared their views on the social media platform.
