Asia Cup 2022: Three players who might clinch the 'Player of the Tournament' award

Asia Cup 2022's group stage is all set to get over on Friday (September 2) with Pakistan taking on Hong Kong. The tournament has already seen a couple of thrillers and Pakistan will aim a sail through against Hong Kong.

The tournament has already seen a few players who have outclassed others and we have handpicked three such players who have the potential to become the player of the tournament. Here are the three players who might end up as the player of the tournament:

1) Babar Azam:

Babar Azam, the Pakistan skipper, is in exceptional form, albeit he failed to capitalize on the opportunity in the match against India. However, the batter can be ruthless in the upcoming game against Hong Kong.

Pakistan is highly likely to qualify for the next round and Babar Azam might overtake Virat Kohli as the highest run-getter going forward. The skipper might also end up as the player of the tournament as he has done it a lot of times in the past.

2) Rashid Khan:

Rashid Khan is in splendid form and showed his potential in the first two matches against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The bowler has bagged three scalps to his name so far and his team was the first to qualify for the next round.

The spinner might end up bagging the most number of wickets in the tournament with a few more matches to go and might also clinch the player of the tournament award.

3) Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli is the leading run-scorer in the tournament as of now and the team has qualified for the next round. He came into the tournament after a brief break and managed to score a decent 35 in the first match. The legend went on to bag a fifty in the second match to become the first player to score a fifty in this season.

The Bangalore batter will look to carry on with his decent form and clinch the player of the tournament award. Although the chances for it are less given Babar Azam is chasing him with his class, still, the probability is not ruled out.
