Afghanistan is enjoying its dream run in the 15th edition of the Asia Cup as they have won both group matches against Sri Lanka and recently against Bangladesh with massive margins. Mohammad Nabi & co has also become the first team of this edition to qualify for the super four round.

They have beaten Bangladesh by seven wickets in the third match of the tournament. Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and decided to bat first at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Batting first, the Bangladeshi side could manage to score only 127 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, Afghanistan comfortably crossed the line in 18.3 overs on the backs of batting heroics from Najibullah Zadran. Afghanistan scored 131 runs with nine balls to spare and won the match to qualify for the next round of the tournament.

Afghanistan won both matches in the group stage

Further discussing the match, then Bangladesh had a very poor start as half of their team went back to the pavilion only on the score of 53 runs in 10.3 overs. Lower-order batter Mosaddek Hossain was the only batter only who kept struggling and played a knock of 48 runs off 31 balls with four boundaries and a six to his name.

Star spinner Rashid Khan and Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman scalped three wickets each for Afghanistan. They restricted Bangladesh to a low total of 127 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the 20 overs.

While chasing the target, number five batter Najibullah Zadran shined with the bat for his team as he played a blistering knock of 43 runs off just 17 balls with a boundary and massive six sixes in his account. Afghanistan crossed the line on the third ball of the 19th over and scored 131 runs. Najibullah Zadran finished the match for his team in a style with a six on Mosaddek Hossain.
