Australia finished day two of the ongoing first Ashes test on 17 June 2023 with a trail of 82 runs along with five wickets in hand. Moeen Ali took two wickets but the dismissal of Cameron Green made headlines. He tossed the ball up and it pitched on the footmark. From there, it turned while Green went for a drive against that turn.
He missed it completely and the ball went through his bat and pads to hit the top of the middle. The star Aussie all-rounder was left absolutely bamboozled with such a peach of a delivery and so were fans. The former Team India spinner Harbhajan Singh came up with an appreciation tweet also and seeing that, fans shared their views on social media.
Here is the shared tweet:
What a beauty Moen ♠️ https://t.co/Rai7KEj4XN

Moeen Ali has been decent so far in his comeback to the Test format
Speaking of the tweet, Harbhajan wrote: “What a beauty Moen.” It seemed that the former spinner was very impressed with that delivery. However, it has been a decent comeback to the longest format of the game so far for Moeen Ali. With the bat, he scored 18 runs off 17 balls, including two fours and one six. While with the ball, he has taken two wickets so far. Ali took retirement from Tests in 2021. But, as a replacement for injured Jack Leach, Ali made a comeback.
After the decision of Moeen Ali’s comeback, the Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket, Rob Key said: “We reached out to Mo (Moeen Ali) early this week about returning to Test cricket. Having had a couple of days to reflect, Mo is excited to join the squad and play Test cricket again. His vast experience, along with his all-round ability, will benefit our Ashes campaign. We wish Mo and the rest of the squad well for the Ashes campaign.” Ali finished day two with two wickets for 124 runs in 29 overs.
