In big news for Pakistan Cricket, Inzamam-ul-Haq will come back to the Pakistan Cricket Board  (PCB) and serve his second term as chief selector of the National side. Inzamam previously served as a selector from the period of 2016 to 2019 when Pakistan won the Champions Trophy in 2017 and also had a decent 2019 World Cup campaign.

The former Pakistan captain's first order of business will be to name a Pakistan side for the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan which will be played in Sri Lanka. Then Pakistan will play the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. When the Men in Green recently toured the Island nation they beat them 2-0 in a Test series.

"Heading a selection committee is already a tough job in Pakistan, but it is going to be more challenging this time with the Asia Cup and World Cup around the corner followed by the tour of Australia,"  Inzamam said in a statement issued by PCB on Monday. "But, I know I can deliver in this role and I will try to do better than I did the last time. Despite the paucity of time, we will announce the best possible sides," he added.
