On 21 May 2023, Virat Kohli was in action during the RCB vs GT clash at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. He also smashed his seventh IPL ton. After that, RCB came up with a tweet and claimed that there is no competition to him as he is the ‘G.O.A.T’. However, his effort went in vain as GT registered a six-wicket win.

But, after the match, South African women's cricketer, Marizanne Kapp with a tweet in reply to that, and fans were left confused. RCB tweeted: ‘Back-to-back centuries for Virat Kohli! Brings up his 7th IPL Century! There is no competition! G.O.A.T #PlayBold #ನಮ್ಮRCB #IPL2023 #RCBvGT.’ In reply to that, Kapp wrote: ‘If only @imVkohli could bowl?!’

It seemed that the star all-rounder was not happy with the fact that Kohli does not ball and is yet to be called the ‘G.O.A.T’. Speaking of the match, Virat Kohli scored 101* runs off 61 balls and RCB scored 197 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Shubman Gill smashed 104* runs off 52 balls and won the match with five balls to spare. However, it was Kohli’s seventh IPL ton and he also became the player with the most number of IPL tons in the history of the tournament. Even, it was his second consecutive century this year. After the century, Kohli shared his views and claimed that he has been feeling really good in his game right now.

Kohli said: “A lot of people feel my T20 cricket is declining, but I don't feel like that at all. I feel I am playing my best again, enjoying myself, hitting gaps and big ones at the end. You have to rise to the occasion when the situation demands, and I take a lot of pride in doing, and I've been doing it a while now. I feel really good in my game right now.” The former RCB skipper finished this season with 639 runs in 14 matches, including two centuries and six fifties.
