After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Gujrat's bowlers were superb with the new ball. While picking two wickets, they only gave 39 runs in the first six overs. The two wickets comprised of Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali. The English all-rounder seems to be struggling in the ongoing 2022 edition.

After which, Ambati Rayudu and Ruturaj Gaikwad put together a 92-run partnership. This came as a huge positive to the Chennai fans as both the batters were struggling in this edition. While the Andhra Pradesh batter was dismissed for 46, Chennai's opener continued to play his shots. The youngster showed everyone why the experts and pundits rate him so highly as he scored an amazing half-century.

Gaikwad was dismissed after scoring 73 from 48 balls. While his strike rate during the innings was 152.08, it included five boundaries and five sixes. After which, Jadeja provided a solid finish for the side. The skipper scored an unbeaten 22 off just 12 balls.

This enabled them to get to 169-7 in their stipulated 20 overs. As Gujarat were without their captain and in-form player Pandya, it was never going to be easy for them. Gujarat's top-order was dismissed rather cheaply. It was Maheesh Theekshana who wreaked havoc during the powerplay overs of the second innings.

Gujarat kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Yet, David Miller kept the hopes of his side alive as he went on to play arguably one of the best knocks of this edition. Whenever it was in his arc, he deposited the ball out of the park. Towards the end, even Rashid Khan played a superb cameo as he scored 40 runs in just 21 balls. At the end, "Killer Miller" saw his team cross the line as he scored an unbeaten 94. Several fans took to Twitter to speak about the game. They gave their views on this exciting game.
