History Of Ashes:
The Ashes is a Test cricket series played between two arch-rivals, England and Australia. The British newspaper, The Sporting Times came up with ‘The Ashes’ term immediately after Australia defeated England in 1882 at the Oval. It was their first Test win on English soil. Generally, five Tests take place in an Ashes series, hosted in turn by England and Australia at least once every two years. The first ever Ashes series took place in 1882-83 and that was won by the Aussies.
