The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have seen several highs and lows during the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023. Lucknow has played 12 games in the tournament so far, winning six and losing five, with one game ending in a tie. Despite having many positives to highlight, the injury of great Indian batter KL Rahul during the current tournament has been one of the biggest drawbacks for the team.

On May 1, during Lucknow's game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Rahul suffered a right thigh injury. Rahul sustained an injury and was therefore ruled out for the remainder of the competition as well as the forthcoming Test Championship final. The 31-year-old recently shared a photo of himself using crutches on Instagram.

Rahul captioned the picture, "Out and about," as he was seen pacing the streets on crutches. In a recent message, he also mentioned that he had undergone a successful operation and was now on the road to recovery.

In the 58th match of the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) recently squared off. Nicholas Pooran and Prerak Mankad both played outstanding innings as Lucknow was able to win by a margin of seven wickets. After winning the game, the Super Giants restored the fourth position in the IPL points table.

The team, led by Krunal Pandya, now has 13 points after 12 games, and they will need to win their remaining games to guarantee their place in the competition's knockout rounds. In the IPL 2023 group stages, they still have two games to play.

On Tuesday, May 16, the Super Giants will play the Mumbai Indians (MI). On Saturday, May 20, they will play the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The squad would be eager to win both games to advance to the tournament playoffs.
