The visiting team's captain David Warner chose to bat first after winning the toss. The team representing the national capital had a forgettable batting performance, nevertheless. Warner, the captain, continued to struggle with his poor strike rate as he could only muster 21 runs in 20 balls. The only significant players in their innings were Manish Pandey (34 off 27 balls), Axar Patel (34 runs off a ball), and Mitchell Marsh (25 off 15 balls), as they finished on 144/9 in their 20 overs.

DC defended 13 runs in the final over to win the game against SRH

With a three-wicket haul, Washington Sundar continued to be the go-to bowler for the home team. While veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned with two wickets and just 11 runs allowed in his four overs, he let up 28 runs in his four overs. T Natarajan also picked up a wicket. However, SRH's fielding remained the highlight, with three run-outs in the first innings.
