The 36th match of the Indian T20 league 2022 turned out to be a walk in the park for Hyderabad. They beat Bangalore by nine wickets in arguably one of the most one-sided games of this edition so far. This victory comes as a huge confidence booster for the orange army.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Hyderabad's bowlers were right on the money. They dominated the Bangalore batters right from ball one. The second over of the game saw Marco Jansen pick three crucial wickets. Not only did he pick the wicket of Bangalore's skipper Faf du Plessis, but he also dismissed Virat Kohli for a golden duck.
This was the Delhi batter's second consecutive golden duck. He just can't seem to buy a run at the moment. Kohli himself was shocked as he stood in disbelief after getting out. This edition seems to keep getting worse for him. Kohli is yet to score a half-century in the 2022 edition.
After which, Bangalore kept losing wickets at regular intervals. None of their batters were able to face the wrath of the Hyderabad bowlers. Their highest run-scorer in this game was Suyash Prabhudessai, who scored a 20-ball 15. Thus, Bangalore were bundled for just 68. Marco Jansen and T Natrajan picked three wickets each. Besides, none of Kane Williamson's bowlers went wicketless.
It is to be noted that this was the sixth-lowest total in the history of the league. Moreover, this was the eighth time that Bangalore were bundled for a score of less than 100. Having said that, the Williamson-led side were simply unbelievable with the ball. They ensured that their batters could finish the game without breaking a sweat.
During the second innings, Hyderabad's batters were careful and didn't take too many risks. They weren't really threatened by Bangalore's bowlers. Thus, Hyderabad chased their target with 72 balls to spare. This enabled the 2016-champions to their fifth win in seven games of the 2022 edition. As for Bangalore, this loss will definitely dent their net run rate.

This Anuj Rawat experiment needs to stop now for RCB. In 7 matches so far, he's only scored 129 runs at an avg of 16.1 and a SR of 109.3 (6.55 Runs per over).

Kane Williamson's captaincy has been very good as far as field placements and utilisation of resources are concerned.

On a pitch that has been a high-scoring one, on a pitch that he practices on during the off-season. He comes in and gets out on the first ball. This is outright disappointing, Kohli.#RCBvSRH
