England all-rounder Liam Livingstone lit up the Abu Dhabi T10 League with a blistering knock. The destructive Englishman was on a six-hitting mission and stroked eight sixes, six in his last eight balls to propel Team Abu Dhabi to a daunting 132. He remained not out on 68 off 23 balls.
Put into bat, Abu Dhabi didn't get off to a good start and lost Paul Stirling for a first ball duck. Chris Gayle too struggled to get going and made a scratchy 9 off 8 balls. Phil Salt played a good hand of 29 but couldn't stretch his inning. At one point of time, Abu Dhabi were in trouble at 55-4 and looked like settling for a sub-par total.
Livingstone started off cautiously and was batting at 22 off 13 balls before he switched gears. He stroked Joshua Little for two fours on the first two balls of the 9th over before hitting him for four consecutive sixes.
In the next over, he scored two sixes of Chris Jordan to help Abu Dhabi go past the 130 run mark. Given the dew and format of the game, this is not a winning total but definitely will take some doing. Defending Champions Northern Warriors have a strong team with players like Kennar Lewis, Moeen Ali, Rovman Powell at disposal.
If Team Abu Dhabi manages to pull this off, this will be their second win of the season.
