The final day of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2022 saw the third-place match and the all-important final take place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Morrisville Samp Army took on Team Abu Dhabi in the third-place match, while Deccan Gladiators played the New York Strikers in the finals. Third-place match: Morrisville Samp Army vs Team Abu Dhabi
Batting first, Moeen Ali and Andries Gous gave Morrisville Samp Army the perfect start. Ali scored a quick-fire knock of 23 in 9 balls before he was dismissed in the 3rd over. The latter went on to score 68 runs in 33 balls, while he got the perfect support from Karim Janat, who scored 27 runs in 16 balls. They helped the team get to a total of 127/2.
In the following innings, the Samp Army bowlers were on the money as they demolished Team Abu Dhabi's batting lineup. Bas de Leede and Kashif Daud took two wickets each, while Akif Raja and Obus Pienaar took two and one, respectively. They restricted Abu Dhabi to a mere score of 48-10 in 8.4 overs. Morrisville Samp Army registered a 79-run win in the match.
Final: New York Strikers vs Deccan Gladiators
In the title match, New York Strikers won the toss and decided to bowl first. They were successful in restricting the top three batters but leaked a lot of runs later on. Nicholas Pooran and David Wiese annihilated the bowlers, scoring 40 and 43 runs to help their team reach a massive total of 128-4 in 10 overs.
In the chase, the Strikers also lost a few wickets early on, but none of their batters could get going after that. On the other hand, Gladiators kept chipping with regular wickets. Joshua Little was the standout bowler, taking two wickets and allowing only four runs. Kieron Pollard led the Strikers in scoring with 23 runs in 15 balls. The team was restricted to a score of 91-5, handing the Gladiators a 37-run win in the final.
