Saurashtra under the captaincy of Jaydev Unadkat is locking horns with Delhi in the Elite Group B match of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium in the city itself. The visitors’ skipper Yash Dhull won the toss and decided to bat first on the tough surface of SCA.
Leading the bowling attack in the first over, Saurashtra skipper Jaydev Unadkat completely destroyed Delhi’s batting order. He bagged a hat-trick in the first over by scalping the wickets of both openers Dhruv Shorey, Ayush Badoni, and skipper Yash Dhull.
The 31-year-old veteran domestic pacer and the hosts’ skipper Unadkat completed his five-wicket haul only in the second over by conceding only five runs in two overs.
The fans were also in a state of both shock and ecstasy as Unadkat has now become the first-ever bowler in the history of the Ranji Trophy to bag a hat-trick only in the first over. They took to Twitter to lavish praises on the veteran domestic pacer.
Here’s how fans reacted to the historic feat achieved by Jaydev Unadkat:
