Ravindra Jadeja is yet to win his first match as Chennai's captain as his side lost yet another game in the Indian T20 league 2022. On the other hand, Hyderabad have finally got their first win of the 2022 edition. They defeated the defending champions by eight wickets.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Hyderabad were superb in the powerplay overs. Their bowlers barely bowled any freebies to Chennai's top-order. The yellow army's blue-eyed boy Ruturaj Gaikwad failed yet again as he was dismissed for 16.
The Orange Cap winner of the 2021 edition is yet to get a big score in this edition of the league. Chennai scored 41 runs in the first six overs of the first innings. After which, Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu played carefully and didn't take too many chances. The English all-rounder had to depart for 48 and missed a well-deserved half-century.
Chennai kept losing wickets at regular intervals due to which, none of their batters scored a fifty. They finally ended up scoring 154-7 in the first innings. The conditions weren't really batting-friendly as the ball wasn't coming on to the bat.
In the second innings, Hyderabad were hesitant to take the aggressive route. Their skipper Kane Williamson in particular struggled to play the big shots. However, this didn't affect Abhishek Sharma as he was at his absolute best. The youngster played some elegant shots rather effortlessly.
Post Williamson's dismissal, Rahul Tripathi joined hands with the all-rounder to torment Chennai's bowlers. At the end, Hyderabad managed to chase the total with 14 balls to spare. Sharma was the hero as he scored a magnificent 75 off 50 balls. Several fans took to Twitter to speak about the first game of the day. From appreciating some players to trolling the others, the micro-blogging website saw it all.

Feel Csk will have to look at some other Captaincy candidate next year..to me Jadeja just doesn't aspire any sort of confidence leading the side,be it his bowling, batting and media interactions, how much say he is having as a captain is also another question worth pondering!

If Umran improves his control, there's nothing stopping him from being an all format great with the ball. Thankfully, they've got Dale Steyn to help him out. #IPL2022

75 for no loss in 11 overs with one batter batting at 26 off 36 is as criminal as it can get.
