New Zealand's star fast bowler Trent Boult is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023. Meanwhile, he recently expressed his desire to play in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 and said that he still has the desire to play for New Zealand. Bolt had decided to leave the New Zealand Central contract in August 2022 to spend time with the family and for franchise cricket.

Meanwhile, a report from SENZ claimed that Boult will be seen playing for the Blackcaps in the ODI World Cup later this year which will be hosted by India. Bout’s inclusion will surely make the New Zealand squad stronger as he has always delivered for his national side in multiple major tournaments. Here’s what Boult said about playing for his national side again.

"I've still got that big desire to play for New Zealand. It is what it is: I've made my decision. I've been lucky enough to have a 13-year career in the Black Cap and hey, I've still got a big desire to play in the World Cup as well. We'll see how that unfolds: there's still a bit of movement in the landscape at the moment," Boult told ESPNcricinfo on the sidelines of his IPL stint with Rajasthan Royals.

The left-arm speedster also talked about the injury of former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who injured himself while fielding at the start of IPL 2023 while playing for Gujarat Titans, and resultingly getting ruled out of the entire tournament in the very first match.

"I remember after the 2019 final, I said to Kane that we've got to be there again, come 2023 in India. It's a shame with what's going on with his knee but he'll be working as hard as he can to try and get there. It's such a great tournament One hundred per cent, I've got that desire to be out there," he said referring to the injury Williamson suffered at the start of IPL.
