Getting Ben Stokes back for England was fairly straightforward - Luke Wright
"It was not really a case of changing his mind," "He was always interested in coming back. He had to make that priority of getting through the Ashes, have a break and give the body a rest. It wasn't a case of needing to beg him or anything like that, he was always keen, so it was actually fairly straightforward. England's national sector Luke Wright said as quoted by ESPN Cricinfo. Ben Stokes last played an ODI against South Africa.
Once his body was in a good place and he'd had a rest, he was really keen to play. We're delighted from our point of view and I am sure England fans and everyone can be absolutely delighted." Wright added. Stokes will most likely play as a specialist batter. Even if he does so it will not affect the composition of England's squad as they have enough bowling options up their sleeve.
With a lot of the England players having played in the Indian Premier League (IPL), it remains to be seen if the Three Lions come up with a formula and crack the code of doing well in Indian conditions. Since it is the World Cup, the pitches in India will be sporting and balanced unlike during normal times. The 2023 World Cup might be a very open tournament almost all teams are evenly matched.

Arguably the most clutch player in world cricket comes out of retirement as calls for World Cup defence hit the crescendo. #BenStokes

Picking a half fit Stokes comes with huge risks both at the WC & for the test side. Agree about the class of 2019 moving on, though ‘unretiring’ seems to be quite the thing now.
