It is safe to say that he and Virat Kohli are two of the most popular players to have played for the Bangalore-based franchise. While De Villiers retired from all forms of cricket last year, the Indian batter continues to represent the 2016-finalists, and is currently playing for them in the 15th edition of the league. It is to be noted that Kohli and De Villiers have gone on to form a great bond as well.

In what comes as exciting news for all the fans of the franchise, the 33-year-old recently dropped a hint over "Mr 360" coming back to the cash-rich league. While speaking to Danish Sait (also known as "Mr Nags"), Kohli said that he was hopeful of seeing De Villiers in Bangalore next year in some capacity.

"I miss him a lot. I speak to him regularly, quite regularly. He keeps messaging me," said Virat Kohli said in the video. "He was in the US recently watching golf. Augusta Masters is what I heard it was called. So he told me he was there experiencing it with his friends and family. So we stay in touch and he's very keenly watching Bangalore and hopefully here next year in some capacity," he added.

After he said the same, the video showed him making the statement of De Villiers' possible return once again. A transition then led to the video showing some old videos of Sait and the former Proteas batter. After which, Kohli asked "Did I spill the beans?". Further on, he also spoke about his bond with Faf du Plessis. Kohli stated that he used to gel well with the Proteas batter even before the 37-year-old started playing for Bangalore.

“Me and Faf have always kind of gotten along really well even before we started playing together this season because he was the captain of South Africa for a while, Faf is a guy who is very sure of himself and he has full authority on the field, he tells me - sometimes I mention things to him and he says I do not want to do that- which I respect a lot, that obviously makes you gain respect for the person you are playing under. We have had mutual respect for many years, now I have gotten to know him much better now," said Kohli.
