The Indian cricket team couldn’t deliver up to the expectations of the fans in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. The men in blue lost two out of five matches they played in the tournament. They got eliminated from the tournament after losing two consecutive matches against Pakistan and then Sri Lanka. Rohit Sharma & co also encountered injury issues with the senior players.
Experts and fans went on to criticize captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid for their tactics. There were also techniques that backfired for the Indians and eventually cost the results of the match in the very crucial super-4 round of the tournament.
So, here we'll have a look at five mistakes that happened on the side of India in the Asia Cup 2022 and they'll need to work on these before T20 World Cup 2022.

The skipper Rohit Sharma and the team management made so many changes in the playing XI of the team in the tournament. At the beginning of the tournament, senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the tournament due to a knee injury. After that, it confused the Indian management and they happened to make unnecessary and unusual changes.
Speaking about the bowling department of the team, then they regularly kept switching. In the same series of shocking decisions, they decided to bench the senior wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik to play Rishabh Pant who failed to deliver in both batting and wicketkeeping.
2: Too much dependency on Hardik Pandya as an All-Rounder
Hardik Pandya has transformed a lot since the time made his comeback to international cricket after recovering from the injury. The star all-rounder impressed everyone with his stellar performances in the 2022 edition of the Indian T20 League. He remarked on his comeback with some excellent performances on the international circuit.
He delivered an amazing all-round performance both with the bat and ball in India’s first match of Asia Cup 2022 against the arch-rivals Pakistan. But things changed for him in the next match after the exclusion of Ravindra Jadeja which let him also deliver in the role of the fifth bowler for the team. It affected his performances later in the tournament.
3: Failed Death Bowling

Indian selectors picked only three speedsters in the squad for the Asia Cup 2022. Senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivers the same for which he is known in the death overs. Young pacer Avesh Khan also proved to be very costly for the team as he leaked a lot of runs even against the teams like Hong Kong.
Arshdeep Singh showed some potential in the death bowling but he still needs to work on him ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. Other than that, India also needs to call back the quality pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, and Deepak Chahar.
4: Conundrum in deciding the openers

Senior batter and vice-captain KL Rahul has played only four T20I matches in the calendar year of 2022 and couldn’t play any remarkable inning for the team. The management decided to send him as an opener with the skipper Rohit Sharma. But the strike of the 30-year-old is not like the one which suits an opening batter in the T20 internationals.
When Rahul was not there in the playing XI, the management tried so many options including the likes of Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant, and Ishan Kishan. Any one of these three individuals needs to replace the Bangalore batter in the upcoming assignments for the men in blue.
5: Tough and hard captaincy from Rohit Sharma

The leadership of Rohit Sharma is under scrutiny as India lost two consecutive matches against Pakistan and then Sri Lanka in the super-4 round of the Asia Cup. The 35-year-old went on to show lost his cool with the players of the team.
Fans saw it when young pacer Arshdeep Singh dropped the catch of senior Pakistani batter Asif Ali in the super-4 match against Pakistan.
