Fans were excited to watch Kolkata take on Bangalore in the sixth match of the Indian T20 league. However, Kolkata suffered a batting collapse, and meekly surrendered. Bangalore's bowlers were simply superb.
After being asked to bat first, Kolkata's batters got restless as they weren't able to play the big shots. This triggered a collapse as the two-time champions lost wickets in a cluster. While they then managed to score some runs, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Many of their players were dismissed after playing rash shots.
During the first six overs, Kolkata were decently placed at 44-3. After which, Wanindu Hasaranga bowled a match-changing spell. He took four wickets in his four overs, and gave just 20 runs. Kolkata's batters struggled to read him. Due to this spell, Hasaranga was temporarily handed the Purple Cap as well.
None of Kolkata's batters were able to score more than 25. At one stage, Kolkata were 101-9, and it seemed as if they would lose their final wicket before getting to 110. However, their number 10 and 11 batters Umesh Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy put together a 27-run partnership and salvaged some pride. As far as Bangalore's pacers are concerned, then Akash Deep picked three wickets. However, Harshal Patel bowled an economical spell as he gave just 11 runs in four overs, and in the process took two wickets as well.
However, this didn't stop the fans from trolling Kolkata as they took to Twitter to troll the Shreyas Iyer-led side. They ridiculed them for irresponsibly throwing their wickets. Having said that, Kolkata have got to 128, and still stand a chance to win this game. Thus, it will be exciting to see their tactics in the second innings.
Here are some of the Tweets that trolled Kolkata's bowlers:

Batting depth doesn't mean that you should throw most of your wickets in first 10 overs π
