‘4 match khele nahi aur ground khol diya’ - Fans react as Dinesh Karthik inaugurates Natarajan Cricket ground in Tamil Nadu

On 23 June 2023, T Natarajan’s Natarajan Cricket ground at his native village Chinnapampatti in Salem district. Dinesh Karthik attended the event and inaugurated the ground. The main aim of Natarajan is to create more talented rural youth who are interested in the game of cricket. Hence, he bought the land and developed his own cricket ground in the Salem district.

This ground has four centre pitches, two practice tracks, a gym, and a canteen. A mini-gallery has been set up also that can have 100 spectators. After inaugurating the ground, Karthik visited to inspect the way the pitch was set up. Apart from him, actors Yogi Babu, Prema, Chennai Super Kings CEO Viswanathan, Tamil Nadu Cricket Board President Ashok Sigamani, Secretary R.I Palani and others attended the event.

T Natarajan has played seven international matches so far for Team India across all three formats

Speaking about T Natarajan, his rise to Team India can be considered one of the most inspiring stories. Natarajan impressed everyone with his ability to bowl yorkers, especially at death overs while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL. In 2020, he went to Australia as a net bowler for Team India. But, due to injury setbacks, India went with him and in the same tour, he played in all three formats for the Men in Blue. 

He has played only one Test so far and taken three wickets. In two ODIs, he has taken three wickets while in four T20Is, he has taken seven wickets. In IPL 2023, he was in action for SRH and grabbed 10 wickets in 12 matches, at an average of 41 and an economy of 9.11. Currently, he is busy playing for Ba11sy Trichy in the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL). In two matches so far, he has taken only one wicket. He is most likely to be seen in action again on 25 June when Ba11sy Trichy will take on IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans.
