In a major piece of news, the international cricket’s governing body has announced the prize money for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup 2022. The winners of the marquee tournament will get US $ 1.6 million. On the other hand, the runners-up of the tournament will receive half of this winning amount.

Apart from the winners and the runners-up, the governing body has also announced the prize money for the other team who will finish either in the semi-finals or the super-12 round. Last but not the least, they have also announced the prize money for the teams who will finish in the group stage only.

Speaking a bit more about the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup, then the eight teams have qualified straight into the super-12 round of the tournament. This list includes the likes of Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa.

Whereas on the other end, eight teams are divided into two groups to play the qualifiers for the main round of the tournament. These eight teams are Namibia, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and UAE placed in Group A and West Indies, Scotland, Ireland, and Zimbabwe.
