In a recent piece of news, Pakistan selectors have announced the squad for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup 2022 commencing on the 16th of October in Australia. The men in green have finished as the runners-up in the recently-concluded Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2022. Babar & co. performed brilliantly in the tournament by winning three out of six matches they played in the continental tournament.
Speaking about the Squad, then the ace speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi is back in the team after recovering from an injury. In another major piece of news, senior batter Shan Masood has also made a cut to the marquee tournament on the backs of his stellar performances in the English cricket circuit.

Other than these additions, the 21-year-old middle-order batter Haider Ali will also be a part of the team in the eighth edition of the World Cup. Former legendary Pakistani spinner Abdul Qadir’s son Usman Qadir will also be a player to watch out for in the upcoming edition of the tournament.
Making some major changes in the squad, the selectors have kept the senior batter Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Haris, and young pacer Shahnawaz Dahani in the reserves.
Earlier, Pakistan had two clashes with the arch-rivals in the Asia Cup 2022 in the group stage and super-4 round respectively. In these two clashes, the men in green lost the group match to India by five wickets which they cleared off later in the super-4 by outplaying the men in blue with a margin of five wickets.
