Neeraj Chopra has created a history for India in track & field events after 19 years. He has won a silver medal at the World Athletics Championship 2022 in USA’s Oregon. By achieving this feat, Chopra has become the first Indian man athlete to win any medal in the World Athletics Championship. Simultaneously, he was only the second athlete to finish at the podium in the Worlds.
Last time, Indian long jumper Anju Bobby George won a bronze medal in the World Athletics Championships 2003. The 24-year-old Olympic champion threw the javelin to the distance of 88.13m as his best throw in the finals of the Championship.
Twitter users are also praising this young sensation of India for his achievement at the highest level of competition in Athletics.

The morning didn’t come up with a dream start for Chopra, his first throw landed as foul followed by the second throw of 82.39m. Later on, India’s army man improved and threw the javelin to the distance of 86.37 in his third attempt.
The medal was not sure for him till the third throw but he heaved a sigh of relief when the fourth throw of 88.13m took him to the second position in the finals. His Grenadian counterpart Anderson Peters won the second successive gold in the javelin throw with a great throw of 90.54m. Other than these two, Jakub Vadlejch bagged the bronze medal with a throw of 88.09m.
German thrower Julian Weber missed the medal by a few meters and he finished in the fourth position in the finals. Weber threw the javelin at a distance of 86.86m.
Although, it was not one of his days for Neeraj Chopra as three of the six attempts went into a foul. Speaking of the qualification round, then CWG champion of India topped the leader board in the Group A qualification round. He was at second in overall calculated positions of the qualification round following Anderson Peters.

But what's more important is the attitude - towards self and the opponents. The way you are happy for your opponent and acknowledging competition simultaneously is a GREAT CHAMPION behavior.
