During the Men's Kabaddi final in the Asian Games 2023, India skipper Pawan Sehrawat's raid became a talking point. Apparently, when the game was balanced at 28 apiece, he went into the lobby without touching the defender. However, an Iranian defender, trying to get him, managed to completely go out of the mat. According to the new rules, both teams would have gotten one point each.
However, before all this started, the Iranians were given a point after some of the defenders managed to tackle Sehrawat. After the ruling, the Indian team had an argument with the TV and on-field officials. After a lot of deliberations, four points were awarded to India (as per the old rules). This led to Iranians starting the protests by sitting on the playing mat. However, the referees decided to change the decision and reward one point each.

If a defender goes out during the raid, the raider will remain not out. This happens when the raider hasn't been tackled. However, if the raider has also been tackled even after the defender goes out, both teams will get one point each. Meanwhile, at the time of writing, the suspended game was continued at 28-28. As expected, India has managed to get the lead and win the game by 32-29 with the Men In Blue getting five more points. With this, they have managed another Asian Games Gold Medal.
