Team India began their Asia Cup 2023 campaign on 2 September in Pallekele, Sri Lanka against their arch-rivals Pakistan. But, the match got called off due to heavy rain after India’s batting in the first innings. Virat Kohli had an opportunity to bat but it was a disappointing outing for the former India skipper. He scored just four runs off seven balls and Shaheen Shah Afridi took his wicket.

So, it was quite disappointing for his fans all around the globe. Kohli is known for his worldwide fanbase, even from Pakistan, there are many fans, Now, a video has gone viral where a beautiful sand art of Kohli was seen in Balochistan, Pakistan. Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. But, they were in trouble after losing four wickets for 66 runs. But, after that, it was the 138-run partnership for the fifth wicket between Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya that steadied the innings and they finished with a competitive total of 266 on the board in 48.5 overs. Ishan scored 82 runs and Hardik smashed 87 runs. Afridi took four wickets for 35 runs in 10 overs and eventually, all 10 wickets were taken by the pacer trio of Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.

After India’s innings, one TV representative asked Afridi about the wickets of both Rohit and Kohli and asked about his favourite one among those two dismissals. In reply, he said: “I think both were crucial wickets, but I think Rohit's I enjoyed more. I think the new ball might seam and swing but should be easier after that.” As the match got called off, both teams got one point each. Pakistan qualified for the ‘Super 4’ stage while India will look to ensure their berth in the next stage with a win over Nepal on 4 September.
