Ahead of the big game, Ravi Shastri said that India would be favourite but Pakistan have made tremendous improvements and brought the gulf closer between the two teams. In an India-Pakistan game, it is about who handles pressure better -Ravi Shastri

"I would say India start as favourites. This is their strongest team since 2011, this mix of players," Shastri said. "And a captain who is seasoned, who understands the terrain better than most. Shastri said. "Having said that, Pakistan have narrowed the gap. Pakistan's batters' ability to play spin and also a fiery pace attack should hold them in good stead.

Seven-eight years , there was a gap if you looked at the strength of both teams and man-to-man. But Pakistan have narrowed it down. They are a very good side, so you have to be on top of your game." Shastri added. Shastri said temperament rather than form will be the deciding factor by which team takes the game.

"When you look at the mix of players on either side, they are fabulous. And it will be a spectacle. In an India-Pakistan game, it is about who handles pressure better, who is calmer, whose thought process is clear. Those are the guys who will come through on those big occasions. Shastri further said. The 2022 T20 World Cup between the two sides at the Melbourne Cricket Ground was a sight to behold.
