Both India and Pakistan are currently busy playing in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. However, both the teams qualified for the ‘Super 4’ stage from Group A. Now, Pakistan have already won their first game in the ‘Super 4’ stage against Bangladesh. Now, they will take on India on 10 September in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The last match for the Men in Green in this stage will be against Sri Lanka on 14 September. After the Pakistan clash, India will play Sri Lanka on 12 September and Bangladesh on 15 September. But, all eyes are on the upcoming battle between these arch-rivals. Meanwhile, in the earlier Group A encounter, fans failed to get a full game.

In that clash, India batted first but when it came to Pakistan’s chase, no balls were bowled due to heavy rain and the match was called off. So, it was a disappointing end to a much-anticipated clash between these sides. Speaking of the history of this battle in this ongoing tournament in ODIs, India and Pakistan have faced each other on 14 occasions so far. Among those, India have won seven times while Pakistan have won five times. Two matches were ended with no result.

These Asian Giants first met each other in an Asia Cup ODI in 1984. India won that match by 54 runs at Sharjah. However, this tournament has been more lucky to the Men in Blue rather than the Men in Green. India have won this tournament for the most number of times (7) while Pakistan have won it twice. India won this tournament for the last time in 2018 while Pakistan won it for the last time in 2012. So, an enthraling battle awaits for fans again on 10 September. But, as per recent reports, again that match can be threatened by rain and it can get affected.
