India and Sri Lanka locked horns against each other in the Asia Cup final. The Men from the Emerald Isle won the toss and opted to bat first.  Sri Lanka got off to the worst possible start as Kusal Perrera was the first batter to fall to Jasprit Bumrah. After securing this lone wicket, it was over to Mohammed Siraj.

The Man from Hyderabad wreaked havoc on the Sri Lankan batting lineup as they were subjected to a trial by fire.  Siraj picked up 6-21 in his seven overs.  It was bowling of the highest class as the Sri Lankans did not know what hit them. There were five batters from Sri Lanka who got out on ducks. It was a wonderful bowling effort from the Indian pacers.

Hardik Pandya came on in later and picked up 3-3 in his 2.2 overs. The Sri Lankans just could not fathom what had happened. The Islanders did not turn up for the final and the Indians were all over them. Mohammed Siraj became the first Indian bowler to take four wickets in an over as well. Siraj's 6-21 is the best bowling figures by an Indian pacer in an ODI.

Sri Lanka were just shot down for 50. It was their second-lowest total in ODIs. The Men in Blue had bowled the Islanders out in just 15.2 overs which is the second quickest by a full member side. The Men in Blue were absolutely on point and Rohit Sharma was very spot-on with his bowling changes.

In the second innings, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan walked out to open the batting as Rohit demoted himself in the batting order once again. The two young guns marched out fearlessly and started hitting boundaries at will to put pressure on the Sri Lankan bowling unit.

Gill made an unbeaten 27 off 19 balls with six fours. Ishan Kishan made an unbeaten 23 off 18 balls with three fours and India wrapped up proceedings in 6.1 overs.
