India and Pakistan will be taking on each other in Asia Cup 2023. The two teams have not played a match against each other in ODIs since the 2019 ODI World Cup. The fans are all excited for the big clash in Pallekele. The only thing that could stop the event happening is the weather forecast. There is almost a 91% chance that rain might have a say on the match, which would be unfortunate.

Despite the bad news, the fans, cricket experts, former cricketers, and the players are highly excited for the match. The experts are giving their opinions on the eventual outcome of the match. The former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has given his opinion on the match. On his YouTube channel, Akhtar said that Pakistan might trash the Indian team if they bat first.

'They have played high-pressure games against India before' - Shoaib Akhtar

“Babar and his team are very mature. They have played high-pressure games against India before. They will not be under much pressure now. If Pakistan win the toss and bat first, they will literally hammer India. Vice-versa, if India wins the toss, Pakistan could be in trouble because ball isn't really moving much under the lights,” said the Rawalpindi Express.

Akhtar further said that the Indian team should play all the three pacers – Bumrah, Siraj, and Shami. “Both teams have a good chance. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammad Siraj should be playing together. Kuldeep should play. There is a debate on Virat Kohli, whether he should bat at 3 or 4, and whether Ishan should bat at 5 or open the innings,” added the former Pakistan pacer.

There is also a discussion regarding the batting positions of the Indian batters. Akhtar gave his opinion on the same. “But what I must say is that Pakistan is a formidable side. They have the ammunition with the ball, and their batting is settled. It is not a volatile batting order anymore, like in the past. These are the two balanced sides when they play in the sub-continent," concluded Akhtar.
